Serverless

A cloud application model in which the provider manages much of the underlying server infrastructure, scaling, and runtime operations for the developer.

Cloud & Systems

In plain English

Serverless does not mean there are no servers. It means developers usually do not provision or maintain those servers directly. They deploy code or services while the cloud platform handles much of the infrastructure needed to run and scale them.

Example

A checkout application could run a small function whenever a payment succeeds, with the cloud provider automatically supplying the compute resources needed for each event.
